The current series of Room to Improve drew to a close on Sunday and everyone was gutted to see it come to an end.

In the last episode of the RTE show, Dermot Bannon had a budget of €180,000 to do up a 1960s Dublin home - which he increased to a cool €290,000 before the show ended.

Couple Rory and Lorna wanted an open plan home for their family, which was music to Dermot's ears, and they also agreed to much of what the architect wanted done on the home.

Viewers at home seemed to thoroughly enjoy the episode, as they have done over the last two months.

But they were all left saying the same thing when it was over - that they'll miss it on their screens every Sunday night.

One Twitter user said: "When you wake up and realise that #roomtoimprove is really over. No more @DermotBannon for a whole year. What to do with my Sunday nights."

Another person added: "Devastated series is over.. Loved every episode.. Roll on next season.. Brings Ireland together on a Sunday evening.."

Other comments included: "I dont want #RoomToImprove to be over. Great series. Well done to all", "What will I do now with my Sunday evenings (while avoiding homework) now that another GREAT season of #roomtoimprove is over!" and "dont know what to do now thats over.."
